Sonic Youth: Sleeping Nights Awake (Trailer) A documentary on Sonic Youth by Project Moonshine. Shot entirely by seven high school students and featuring interviews, backstage footage, and 10 songs performed live in Reno, NV on 7/4/06.
For me, the really exciting thing about this is that the footage is so still, patient, and clean — it totally goes against the grain of almost everything else you see in terms of how people film live music, and it’s not too far off from how I’d want to do it. Very promising.
