Here’s Chan Marshall, looking somewhat androgynous and playing a flying V electric guitar with Steve Shelley on drums. She looks bewildered, but she’s totally on in this performance, with that incredible voice of hers belting out the mysterious, heartbreaking hook of the song as she looks off to the side of the microphone. So inscrutable, so beautiful.
