Pavement “Range Life” (Live at the Cat’s Cradle, Chapel Hill, NC 9/11/1992)
This is a very, very early version of the song — about half of the lyrics are different, and the tone and style of the music is more in line with Slanted & Enchanted/Watery, Domestic aesthetic than where the band would go on Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. It’s an interesting work in progress, and a suggestion of what the band might’ve been like if Gary Young had stayed in the band, and they basically just stayed the same.
